World of Outlaws/ USAC Sprint Cars

Some of my favorite memories growing up were going to our local dirt track on Friday and Saturday nights. Modifieds were the top dog, but once every 2-3 years we’d have a sprint car show, and fans would come out in droves. 1400 lbs., and 900+ horsepower, a crazy power to weight ratio, and an awesome show to watch. Any car that can pull a wheelie while moving on dirt is an awesome sight to see. Below are some of my favorite sprint car pictures I’ve been able to capture.

Tim Kaeding piloting Tony Stewart’s machine at Kokomo Speedway
Sheldon Haudenschild chasing the sun during qualifications
David Gravel pitching it hard into turn 1
Donny Schatz in a drag race with Sheldon Haudenschild
I asked Travis Berryhill, “Isn’t it customary to have at least three tires in contact w/ the track surface?” His response “As long as at least one is down I’m good.”
Dominic Scelzi was a blur for the fans in Kokomo
Sprint cars have been referred to as buckin’ broncs. From this pic you can see why
Coming in HOT!!!!
Kaeding lighting up those brake rotors
The Big Cat Brad Sweet scooting the front stretch
Sun always shining a dirt track
T Mez looking like a steam locomotive coming out of turn-4
Rico Abreu’s alter ego super hero “The Blur”
Carson Short riding the bull around Circle City Raceway

Before the cushion is worn down
Finding the blur
Kyle Larson sliding it in at Putnamville
Roasting those rotors
May have covered the lens in spray, but worth the shot
Like riding a bucking bronco
